Flick Opens Door for Lamine Yamal as False Nine
Hans Flick, Barcelona's coach, spoke about the possibility of utilizing Spanish star Lamine Yamal in the false nine position, confirming that the player has previously played this role for the team.
Flick stated: "He played one or two matches with us as a false nine. He is amazing, a world-class player capable of adapting to this position, but our main focus will be to involve him as a right winger, and we will see."
The German coach added that Barcelona has many attacking options, pointing out the potential to deploy Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi in multiple positions: "We have Gordon and Adeyemi as well, and they can play on the right, left, and centrally. We have a lot of options, and we will see."
It seems that Flick sees Yamal as a player capable of occupying more than one attacking position, with the right winger remaining his primary option, while the idea of a false nine remains one of the tactical solutions that can be resorted to depending on match circumstances.
