According to "Youm7" newspaper, Hossam Ammouta, the head coach of Al Ahly, has urged the club's management to swiftly finalize the signing of a new defender during the ongoing summer transfer window. These intensive moves from the Moroccan coach come as he is fully convinced of the clear gaps and technical issues in the red team's defense, prompting him to prioritize strengthening the backline as an urgent matter in his current tactical plan.

Amouta has not imposed complex restrictions on the management, demonstrating complete flexibility in choosing the identity of the new player, welcoming the signing of a local or foreign defender as long as the required technical competence is available.

The newspaper reported that Al Ahly's management is exploring several options to bolster their defense for the new season, weighing various local and foreign alternatives. The list of local candidates includes prominent names such as Omar Fayad, a defender from Turkish club Fenerbahçe, Mustafa Ibrahim from Al Ittihad Alexandria, and Ahmed Tarek from Zed FC. On the foreign front, Libyan defender Ali Youssef, who plays for Nantes in France, stands out as a key foreign option, alongside several Palestinian players also entering the radar. However, the red management has yet to finalize their choice.

Al Ahly's recruitment committee is racing against time to resolve this complex issue and fulfill Ammouta's overwhelming desire. The officials at the Red Castle understand that finalizing the identity of the new defender and allowing enough time for him to integrate with the team will be the strongest weapon to secure the backline, avoiding any early technical setbacks that could hinder the Red Devils' ambitions of claiming titles at the start of the new season.
