Barcelona Eyes Rodri Despite Manchester City's Demands
Barcelona continues to keep an eye on Spanish midfielder Rodri's situation at Manchester City, as he is among the top names being considered to strengthen the midfield during the summer transfer window, especially following Frenkie de Jong's injury, which has prompted the sporting management to reassess the team's needs. Sport reported that the Catalan club has made initial contacts to explore the possibility of signing the player.
Despite Barcelona's interest, the club's priority remains signing a central striker. However, the possibility of pursuing Rodri could arise if the financial conditions are right.
The sporting management sees the Spanish international as one of the best midfielders in the world, capable of making a significant impact on the team.
Meanwhile, Manchester City does not intend to easily part with their star player, as reports indicate that the English club values the player at around €70 million, despite the contract nearing its end in the summer of 2027. This makes completing the deal complicated given the financial constraints Barcelona is facing.
At the same time, Real Madrid is closely following Rodri's situation, as the Spanish midfielder has been one of the names admired by the royal club's management for some time.
