Al Ahly in Talks to Renew Yasser Ibrahim's Contract Amid Interest from Al Shabab
Al Ahly SC has begun efforts to renew the contract of defender Yasser Ibrahim, following reports linking the player with interest from Al Shabab during the current summer transfer window.
Sources close to the Red Castle have revealed that the player has been informed of inquiries regarding a potential transfer, while Al Ahly remains adamant about keeping him in the squad.
According to sources, what has transpired so far does not constitute an official offer, as it has been limited to communications from a marketing company to gauge the player's stance and the possibility of his transfer to Al Shabab, without Al Ahly receiving any formal letter from the Saudi club. Al Ahly's management has informed Yasser Ibrahim that they are awaiting the arrival of an official offer to consider should one indeed be made.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly has made an offer to Yasser Ibrahim to renew his contract for an additional two seasons, at a rate of 25 million EGP per season, as part of the management's plan to retain key players, especially after the impressive performances he has delivered with the team and the Egyptian national team recently.
