Al Ahly Exempt from CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary Round

Reports have revealed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has exempted Egyptian club Al Ahly from participating in the first preliminary round of the African Confederation Cup, thanks to their top position in the continental club rankings.

With this exemption, Al Ahly will begin their journey in the new edition of the CAF Confederation Cup directly from the second preliminary round, with their first match scheduled for October, according to the competition schedule set by the African Football Confederation.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the dates for the draws of the preliminary rounds of the African Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, in preparation for the start of the new season.

The draw ceremony is set to take place next Thursday, August 6, at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football in Cairo. The draw for the CAF Confederation Cup will begin at 2 PM Cairo time, followed by the draw for the CAF Champions League at 3 PM.
