Real Madrid and Vinicius on the Brink of Crucial Negotiations

The contract renewal file for Brazilian star Vinícius Júnior enters a critical phase as he approaches his return to Madrid in preparation for the new season, while negotiations with Real Madrid's management remain stalled due to disagreements over the financial aspects of the new deal.

Vinicius is set to arrive in the Spanish capital today, Sunday, before joining the team's training on Monday under the guidance of Portuguese coach José Mourinho. However, the greater focus will be on the anticipated meetings off the pitch, which could determine the player's future with the royal club.

According to AS, Vinicius intends to hold an initial meeting with Mourinho before sitting down with Real Madrid officials in an attempt to get negotiations back on track after months of stagnation.

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid offered the player an annual salary close to €20 million net, but Vinicius's representatives rejected the proposal, demanding a substantial signing bonus to be included in the new contract.

The report added that the player's camp is aiming to raise his total annual income to around €30 million when distributing the bonus value over the years of the contract, which is something that Real Madrid's management refuses, as they adhere to their policy of not granting renewal bonuses of this size, fearing it could impact the salary structure within the club.

Vinicius's representatives are relying on the deal of French star Kylian Mbappe, who received a massive signing bonus when he transferred for free from Paris Saint-Germain, making him the highest-paid player at Real Madrid, despite his base salary being close to that of the Brazilian star.

In contrast, the club management confirms that Mbappé's situation is completely different, as the bonus was part of a free transfer deal, not a renewal contract with a player already within the team.

With negotiations continuing to stall, Arsenal is keeping a close eye on the situation, amid reports that the English club is prepared to move if talks between Real Madrid and Vinicius reach an impasse.

Despite the speculation, sources close to the player deny any agreement with the "Gunners," emphasizing that Vinicius's priority remains to continue his journey with Real Madrid.

If the anticipated meetings do not result in an agreement, Real Madrid's management may have to reevaluate their stance, especially since they do not want to enter the summer of 2027 without resolving the renewal issue, as the player's contract is nearing its end.
