Syria: What Mourinho Asked of Me, My Goal with Real Madrid is Unforgettable
Alexis Syria expressed his immense happiness after his debut with Real Madrid's first team, where he scored during the friendly match against Fiorentina (2-2), confirming that the moment was exceptional for him.
Syria stated in an interview with Real Madrid TV: "At first, I felt a bit nervous, but once I stepped onto the pitch, everything disappeared because I was doing what I love. When the ball came to me and I scored, it felt like the world stopped for a moment, and when I saw it in the net, it was a huge relief."
The young player revealed a touching message he received from his father before the match, saying: "I was talking to my dad in the locker room, and he sent me a picture of me when I was little and said: do it for this moment, and for the family that loves you and will always support you."
Syria spoke about the instructions he received from coach José Mourinho before the match, stating: "He asked me to be myself, to play with confidence and without pressure, and to enjoy the game."
Speaking about playing on the left side, he said: "I felt very comfortable. I told my father that playing alongside Álvaro Carreira and Federico Valverde made things much easier."
He concluded his remarks by praising the atmosphere within the team during the preparation period, saying: "The first week was more physically demanding, which is normal, while the following two weeks were filled with intensive work. Mourinho loves to play with high intensity, and I feel very comfortable with this style."
