Chelsea Signs Welbeck Until 2028

Chelsea has officially announced the signing of English striker Danny Welbeck from Brighton & Hove Albion on a contract that runs until the summer of 2028, joining manager Xabi Alonso's squad in preparation for the new season.

Danny Welbeck expressed his happiness about moving to the "Blues," saying: "When I learned of Chelsea's interest, I felt a great sense of pride. It’s a prestigious club that always strives to win titles, and I’m excited to join at this special time. I spoke with the coach and feel a great enthusiasm to give my all and make the fans happy."

The 35-year-old English striker arrives at Stamford Bridge with significant experience, having played 400 matches in the Premier League, participated in the Champions League, and represented England in two World Cups.

Welbeck started his career at Manchester United, where he won the Premier League, the League Cup twice, and the Community Shield. He also lifted the FIFA Club World Cup in 2008, before transferring to Arsenal in 2014, where he secured the FA Cup and the Community Shield.

He then defended the colors of Watford, before moving to Brighton, where he played over 200 matches and scored 26 goals in the Premier League over the last two seasons, confirming his ability to maintain his scoring level despite aging.

On the international stage, Welbeck has participated in 42 matches with the England national team, scoring 16 goals. He was a key player in the UEFA Euro 2012, before later featuring in the World Cup twice with the "Three Lions."
