PSG Closing in on Ferran Torres Deal

Ferran Torres's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain is closer than ever, as reports reveal new developments regarding his future with Barcelona during the current summer transfer window.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Ferran Torres' future with Barcelona remains shrouded in uncertainty, with only one year left on his contract and the club's management yet to initiate negotiations for an extension, despite his impressive performances in the 2026 World Cup.

In a new development, journalist Santi Ona revealed that Ferran Torres has informed those close to him and several teammates of his desire to commit to the Paris Saint-Germain project, indicating his readiness to embark on the journey with the French champions.

Una added that next week will see a meeting between officials from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, in an attempt to reach a final agreement regarding the player's transfer, following progress in communications between the various parties.

According to reports, the agreement on personal terms between Torres and the Parisian club is not an obstacle, while Barcelona's approval to sell the player remains the final step to finalize the deal.

Ferran Torres feels undervalued at Barcelona, as there has been no official movement to renew his contract. Additionally, the presence of a clause requiring the Catalan club to pay €8 million to Manchester City upon signing a new deal with the player is one of the reasons that has delayed the renewal discussions.

If the deal goes through, Barcelona will face a new offensive challenge, especially given that they have not yet signed a replacement for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, in addition to the possibility of losing one of the key attacking options in coach Flick's lineup.

The Spanish international caught the eye in the World Cup final after scoring the winning goal in extra time, leading his country to their second global title in history. This has intensified Paris Saint-Germain's interest in acquiring his services, based on the wishes of coach Luis Enrique.
