CAS Sets Hearing for Konrad Michalak Case

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has scheduled August 25 for the hearing of Zamalek's appeal against the sanction imposed by FIFA, related to their dispute with Polish player Konrad Michalak, according to an official notification received by the club's management recently.

This anticipated session is part of Zamalek's legal efforts to contest the ruling from FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber; the previous judgment mandated the club to pay overdue dues to the Polish player, along with a financial penalty as compensation for terminating his contract.

The player had joined Zamalek from Saudi team Al-Ahli, playing 14 matches and providing two assists, before departing in December 2024 after just 10 months at the club. Notably, his contract stipulated a salary of $770,000 per season.

This issue is currently at the top of Zamalek's management agenda, as they race against time to settle outstanding financial disputes with former team members, in order to avoid or lift the ban on registering new players.
