Barcelona Eyes Pavlidis as Alternative to Strengthen Attack

Barcelona continues to monitor Greek striker Vangelis Pavlidis, who has caught the eye with his outstanding performances for Benfica in the Europa League qualifying rounds.

Pavlidis scored four goals (a poker) against Swiss side St. Gallen, leading his team to a strong comeback in a match where he delivered an exceptional performance that caught the attention of several clubs, including Barcelona.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, the name of the Greek striker is on the list of options being considered by Barcelona's management, led by sporting director Deco, to strengthen the attack.

Julián Álvarez is currently Barcelona's primary target, but Pavlidis represents one of the alternatives should the club fail to secure the Argentine player.

Barcelona's plans are closely tied to the future of Ferran Torres, as Pavlidis could play a significant role in the club's strategy should the player leave, although Barcelona hopes to renew Ferran's contract.

However, completing the deal will not be easy, as Benfica relies on the services of their 27-year-old striker, considering him an important element in the team's project for the new season.
