Borussia Dortmund Targets Elias Baum as Replacement

Sky Sports Germany has revealed that Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, Olli Buch, proposed during an internal meeting the name of full-back Elias Baum as the primary option to replace Brazilian Yan Koto, should he leave the team during the current summer transfer window.

Baum has earned the trust of coach Buch, who is well aware of his capabilities from their time at Elversberg, when the player joined on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2024-2025 season, and he delivered impressive performances during that period.

During his loan period, Elias Baum contributed to 11 goals through scoring and assisting, drawing attention to his offensive capabilities alongside his defensive roles, making him one of the standout rising talents in the full-back position.

Baum is known for his tactical flexibility, being able to play as both a right and left back, which provides Borussia Dortmund with a versatile option should the deal for Koto go through during the summer transfer window.
