Ancelotti Confirms Contact with Italy, Reveals Why He Turned Down National Team Role

Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian manager of the Brazil national team, has confirmed that he received calls from the Italian Football Federation to take over the senior national team. However, he declined the offer due to his current commitment with the "Seleção."

Carlo Ancelotti, in an interview with Brazilian network ESPN, clarified that the situation was not solely about contractual aspects, stating: "I was in contact with the Italian Football Federation, but the matter was not related to the contract. I have a commitment to Brazil, and to this country that has welcomed me wonderfully, and I do not want to break this commitment."

The Italian coach is under contract with the Brazil national team until 2030, affirming his commitment to the project he started with the team despite the disappointment following unsatisfactory results in the recent World Cup.

Ancelotti added: "Our results in the World Cup were not good, and we all feel sad. We must learn from what happened, but at the same time, we look to the future, because Brazil has a new generation of talented players, and we can build a bright future for this national team."
