Zamalek Appoints New Sporting Director

Zamalek has announced the acceptance of sports director John Edward's resignation, revealing through Maher Gharib, the media director, that the club has indeed settled on the name of the new sports director who will take over the role in his place.

Maher Gharib stated on Modern Channel: "Change is natural anywhere, and Zamalek has thanked John Edward for all he has done. We do not want the media to portray John Edward's departure as a serious conflict with the board; the relationship between both parties is still very good."

Zamalek is set to appoint a new sporting director, with an official agreement reached with a candidate for the position. However, I will not comment on any rumors.

Zamalek will work with the same team as John Edward next season, and training will not take place at the club's headquarters at Helmy Zamora Stadium. Zamalek will not train at the Military Academy Stadium next season, with the Defense Ministry Stadium being the most likely alternative.

The official emphasized: "It is not correct to say that Zamalek players refuse to train due to not receiving their dues. All players will receive their payments normally, and Zamalek has faced financial difficulties throughout its history, but it is an honor for any player to be associated with Zamalek."

He continued: "Things should have been organized before the team returned to training, and once all matters were resolved and the new coach was confirmed, the training schedule was set."
