Galatasaray Leads Race for Rafael Leão

Galatasaray is making a slight advance over its rival Fenerbahçe in the race to sign Portuguese star Rafael Leão, currently of AC Milan, according to Italian journalist Daniele Longo.

Longo explained that Galatasaray has reached a preliminary agreement with Leao regarding personal terms, which gives them a limited advantage in negotiations for the player's transfer during the current summer transfer window.

On the other hand, Fenerbahçe is still very much in the competition, as they have not received any refusals from the player so far. The club has taken the most serious practical steps, having sent its officials to Italy for direct negotiations to finalize the deal.

Despite Galatasaray's progress in reaching a preliminary agreement with the player, Rafael Leão's future remains undecided, as Fenerbahçe continues to make contact. The competition between Istanbul's giants remains open until a final agreement is reached with Milan and the player.
