Real Madrid Initiates Talks to Sign Rodri from Manchester City

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Real Madrid has made their first official approach to Manchester City regarding the signing of Spanish midfielder Rodri during the current summer transfer window.

According to Romano, negotiations have already started through verbal discussions between the two clubs, after months during which the doors to the deal were closed, before Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez gave the green light to move forward with its completion.

The report indicated that the Real Madrid management has informed Manchester City of their readiness to pay over €50 million to complete the deal, in a move that reflects their serious desire to strengthen the midfield with one of the world's top players in his position.

Rodri, 30, has been one of the key pillars for Manchester City since his arrival in the summer of 2019 from Atlético Madrid, contributing to numerous domestic and continental titles, most notably the UEFA Champions League. He was also awarded the Ballon d'Or for 2024 following his outstanding performances with both the club and the Spanish national team, recently winning the World Cup and earning the title of Best Player of the tournament.
