Benny Zahavi, the agent of Polish star Robert Lewandowski, revealed that the former Barcelona striker rejected a huge offer from a Saudi club worth €200 million during the winter transfer window in January 2025, preferring to stay with the Catalan club until the end of his contract, despite the significant financial temptations. Zahavi stated in comments to Polish media reported by the Spanish press that the offer was for two years at €100 million per season, but Lewandowski chose to continue his journey with Barcelona, emphasizing that his desire to remain at Camp Nou was stronger than any financial gains. He also noted that the player was open to the idea of moving to Saudi Arabia later, but only after completing his journey with the Catalan team. The player's agent revealed that Barcelona president Joan Laporta wanted Lewandowski to stay for an additional season, but he preferred not to interfere in the decisions of sporting director Deco and coach Hans Flick, who were unable to guarantee a starting position for the Polish striker, which Lewandowski considered more important than the financial aspect. After Barcelona's position became clear, Lewandowski and his agent began exploring available options, before the Polish striker decided to turn a new page in his career by moving to Chicago Fire in the United States after his contract with Barcelona ended, thus concluding a successful career that saw him contribute to the team's return to competing for titles and achieving numerous successes.
