Harvey Barnes Signs Long-Term Deal with Newcastle United

Newcastle United has confirmed the renewal of English winger Harvey Barnes' contract on a long-term basis, allowing him to continue his journey with the "Magpies" after three years spent at St. James' Park since joining from Leicester City in the summer of 2023. He had two years remaining on his previous contract.

Harvey Barnes had his best scoring season last year, registering 16 goals in 57 appearances across all competitions. He returned to the England national team in March and participated in a friendly match against Uruguay after nearly six years away. Overall, he has scored 30 goals in 120 matches for Newcastle.

Barnes said after signing the new contract: "I am very happy to renew my contract before the start of the new season. It has been a wonderful journey so far, and I look forward to continuing. I love everything here; the city, the stadium, the fans, and I want to be an influential player who helps the club achieve more success."

Eddie Howe praised the player's level, confirming that the new contract is deserved for what he has delivered over the past years. Sporting director Russ Wilson clarified that Barnes represents an important part of the club's future project, noting that the extension of his contract is part of the policy to retain key elements, following the recent renewals of Fabian Schar and Sven Botman.
