Official: Pirlo Declines Italy National Team Coaching Role

Andrea Pirlo has officially announced his inability to take on the role of head coach for the Italian national team, after being informed by the Italian Football Federation of its final decision not to proceed with his appointment.

Andrea Pirlo took to Instagram to share his news, stating: "I learned last night that I am no longer a candidate to coach Italy."

Andrea Pirlo was close to leading the Italian national team in recent days, but negotiations broke down at the last moment, leading the federation to officially withdraw from the idea of appointing him as the Azzurri's coach.

According to reports, the decision came due to Andrea Pirlo's previous personal contract with the Russian betting company Fonbet, which was not welcomed within the corridors of the Italian Football Federation, despite numerous sources confirming that the Italian coach ended his relationship with the company several years ago.

Reports have claimed that Paolo Maldini, the technical director of the Italian national team, may resign due to this incident. However, other reports indicate that Maldini will remain in his position and will work on finding a replacement for Andrea Pirlo in the upcoming period.
