All eyes were on the annual "Deer Guest" awards ceremony on Sunday evening, dedicated to honoring the best in the Egyptian Premier League for the 2025-2026 season, in a night that celebrated the standout stars of the tournament after an exceptional season marked by excitement and competition until the final moments.

Last season had a unique character, marked by a fierce battle for the league title and top positions, alongside another race at the bottom of the table, before the decision to cancel relegation was announced. The season also represented a different version of the tournament after the implementation of the group system for the second time in the competition's history, amid fierce competition between Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids until the final round.

The ceremony kicked off with the presentation of the Legend Award to Hassan Shehata, the historic coach of the Egyptian national team, in recognition of his career and the achievements he secured with the Pharaohs, including three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008, and 2010.

The second award, "Heroic Constant," went to Ahmad Shobair, Egypt's goalkeeper in the 1990 World Cup, and current media figure, as well as the father of Al Ahly and Egypt national team goalkeeper Mustafa Shobair.

The ceremony also saw Sherif Ekramy honored with a special award, following his announcement of retirement from football just a few days ago, after a long career that spanned over 20 years during which he played for Al Ahly, the Egyptian national team, and Pyramids.

In individual awards, Juan Bezeira, a player for Zamalek, has been crowned Best Player in Egypt for the 2025-2026 season, after being one of the key figures in the white team's triumph in the Egyptian Premier League thanks to his crucial contributions. The Brazilian clinches the award in his first season with the White Castle.

In the Best Professional Player category, the award went to Palestinian Odi Al-Dabbagh, who contributed significantly to Zamalek's championship victory, especially after scoring a crucial goal in the final round against Ceramica Cleopatra.

Khaled El Ghandour has won the Best Goal award in the Egyptian League for the 2025-2026 season, thanks to his stunning strike in the sixteenth round of the Nile League.

John Edward has been awarded the Best Sporting Director of the season, having made a significant impact at Zamalek and contributing to the team's triumph in the championship.

On the officiating front, Egyptian referee Amin Omar has been awarded the Best Referee for the 2025-2026 season, following his impressive performances in the Egyptian league and African tournaments, alongside his presence among the referees for the 2026 World Cup hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

At the end of the ceremony, the best XI in Egypt for the last season was announced, as follows:

Goalkeeper Selection: Mostafa Shobair for Al Ahly.

Defensive Lineup: Ahmed Fattouh (Zamalek), Mohamed Ismail (Zamalek), Hossam Abdel-Meguid (Zamalek), Mohamed Hani (Al Ahly).

In the midfield spotlight: Mohanad Lashin (Pyramids), Abdullah El-Said (Zamalek), and Nasser Maher (Zamalek – Pyramids).
