RB Leipzig Halts Willy Orban's Transfer to Saudi Arabia at the Last Minute

Sky Sports Germany has revealed that the transfer of RB Leipzig captain Willy Orban to Saudi club Al-Dhariyah has collapsed at the last moment, despite all agreements being finalized between the parties.

According to the report, Urban (33 years old) had reached a final agreement with the Saudi club, and Leipzig initially agreed to his departure. The player was preparing to undergo a medical examination on Monday morning, while the Saudi club had prepared a two-year contract worth nearly $15 million net.

However, Leipzig reversed its decision in the final hours after new defender Abdou Diallo suffered a shoulder injury that will keep him out for several weeks, prompting sporting director Marcel Schäfer to prevent Orban's departure and keep him in the squad.

The report indicated that Urban accepted the decision with great professionalism, showing no signs of displeasure, as financial motivation was not the main reason behind his desire to experience Saudi football.
