Crucial Month Ahead for Hamza Abdel Karim at Barcelona
Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim is entering a critical phase in his future with Barcelona as the pre-season camp for the new season kicks off. He is looking to convince coach Hans Flick of his abilities and secure a place in the first-team project.
According to Spanish newspaper "Sport", the player sacrificed his summer vacation after participating with the Egypt national team in the 2026 World Cup, in order to join Barcelona's training early and take advantage of the absence of several first-team players.
The newspaper added that Hamza Abdel Karim delivered a solid performance during the training match against Europe, despite not scoring. It emphasized that his style as a central striker and his ability to play with his back to goal are highly regarded within the club.
Barcelona is considering several scenarios for the player's future, including staying close to the first team while occasionally participating with the reserve team, or a loan move to gain more experience.
The report also indicated that Hamza's future could be affected by Barcelona's movements in the transfer market, especially as sporting director Deco continues to search for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, alongside the uncertainty surrounding Ferran Torres's future.
The report confirmed that the coming weeks will be critical for the Egyptian striker, as Barcelona's decisions in the transfer market will determine the role he will have within the club for the next season.
