Al-Zawraa Signs Uruguayan Nicolás Fernández

Al-Zawraa has officially announced the completion of the contract with Uruguayan player Nicolás Fernández, who will represent the "Nawaris" during the Iraqi Premier League for the 2026-2027 season.

The deal is part of the management's plan to strengthen the team with young foreign elements capable of making a technical difference, in preparation for the upcoming domestic commitments.

Fernandez is 23 years old, born on February 6, 2003. He plays as an attacking midfielder and a second striker, and he is also adept at playing on the wings.

The player has arrived on loan from Uruguayan club Progreso for one season, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Fernandez has represented Uruguay in one international match.
