Sami Al-Trabelsi urges Al-Shorta to sign former Germany star
Al-Shorta is aiming to secure a major signing during the current summer transfer window by pursuing the services of a player who has previously won the World Cup. This target represents a big dream for the management of the "Green Lyre," which has been restructuring its squad with new signings under the guidance of Tunisian coach Sami Al-Trabelsi.
The club had introduced its new coach to the media a few days ago. Al-Trabelsi confirmed his acceptance of the role due to the club's ambitious project and expressed his excitement to start working.
The Tunisian coach has drawn up a list of players he wishes to bring in this summer. At the top of the list is German midfielder Julian Draxler, the 2014 World Cup champion, who is currently playing for Al Ahli in Qatar.
Al-Tabrisi is eager to bring the player on board, having closely followed him when he was coaching Al-Sailiya in Qatar. He hopes that Al-Shorta's management can convince him to come to Baghdad, viewing him as a significant technical addition due to his extensive international and Arab experience.
Al-Shorta management will attempt to open negotiations with the player through a strong financial offer, and before that, reach an agreement with Al Ahli Qatar to allow his departure, even if it is on loan. This is particularly important as Draxler's contract runs until the summer of 2028.
The details of the transfer are anticipated to become clear in the coming days. However, the club is not solely focused on this name, as they are also working to finalize other matters early.
One of the highlights is the potential return of striker Mohannad Ali "Mimi", although he has not yet given his final approval to return despite his good relationship with the management and coaching staff.
