Egypt's Football Association Determines Representatives for 2026-2027 African Competitions
The Egyptian Football Association has officially revealed the list of clubs that will represent Egyptian football in continental competitions during the 2026-2027 season, following the approval of the participating clubs in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
Zamalek and Pyramids will participate in the CAF Champions League, while Al Ahly and ZED will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup, in a season that presents numerous challenges for Egyptian clubs.
Zamalek's participation comes after the club successfully concluded all matters related to obtaining the continental license, following the resolution of its cases with FIFA, officially receiving the green light to participate in the tournament.
Pyramids FC continues its continental presence for the fourth consecutive year in the CAF Champions League, having established its position among the continent's elite, knowing that it has won the title once, in the season before last.
On the other hand, Al Ahly returns to the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing last season in third place in the Egyptian league table, marking its first appearance in the tournament since the 2014-2015 edition. Notably, the club previously lifted the trophy in the 2013-2014 season.
ZED FC will mark its name for the first time in the continental participation records, having secured a ticket to the Confederation Cup after reaching the Egypt Cup final last season, where they lost the title to Pyramids FC. This will begin their first African experience in history.
