Spalletti Pressures Juventus: Coach Awaits 5 New Signings

Luciano Spalletti has begun to feel a sense of frustration due to Juventus' slow movements in the summer transfer market, as the club delays in strengthening its squad ahead of the 2026/2027 season, according to "La Gazzetta dello Sport."

The newspaper reported that Juventus has so far only signed Turkish full-back Zeki Celik on a free transfer and young striker Giacomo Ekitor from Genoa. However, the latter has suffered an injury that will keep him out for about three weeks, increasing the team's need to make new signings.

La Gazzetta dello Sport has confirmed that Spalletti is expecting to sign at least five players before the start of the new season, including two forwards to replace Dusan Vlahovic following the expiration of his contract, as well as a goalkeeper, a midfielder, and a left-wing player.

Juventus is still working to finalize the deal for Frenchman Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, with management prepared to raise their offer to over €40 million. The club is also considering a loan move for Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester, as well as Matteo Pellegrini from Parma, while Richarlison, the Tottenham striker, remains among the options on the table.

In the goalkeeper position, the club is looking to secure a replacement for Michele Di Gregorio, as attempts to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa or Alisson Becker from Liverpool have so far stalled. Meanwhile, Zione Suzuki, the Parma goalkeeper, and Vicario, the Tottenham keeper, emerge as alternative options.

The newspaper added that Spalletti sees the current group as having only three or four key players ready for training, while several others are continuing their rehabilitation programs or are on vacation after participating in the 2026 World Cup. Meanwhile, there are others who are not in his plans for the upcoming season.

The report indicated that Spalletti has informed some of his players in recent days that he will continue to lead the team, but a significant number of them will not be part of the new season's project, as the coach aims to reshape Juventus' roster before the competitions begin.
