AC Milan has officially announced the renewal of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric's contract until June 30, 2027, allowing the 40-year-old to continue his journey in the Rossoneri shirt, while retaining the number 14 jersey.

According to Italian reports, Luka Modric will receive the same salary he earned in the 2025-2026 season, which amounts to €3.5 million net annually.

Luka Modric is expected to join AC Milan's squad in Perth, Australia next Wednesday, in preparation for the pre-season tour, coinciding with the arrival of Rafael Leao and Goncalo Ramos. The continuation of the Croatian star is seen as a significant step in the club's project under coach Ruben Amorim, given his vast experience and leadership role both on and off the pitch.

Milan stated in their official announcement that Modric, who played 37 matches and scored two goals last season, will continue his journey with the team with the ambition of achieving new accomplishments, confirming that since his arrival, he has been a key reference in midfield due to his experience and technical quality.

Luka Modric expressed his happiness to stay, saying: "I am happy to continue with Milan, I have felt welcomed and loved since day one. After a season that did not meet expectations, we have a strong desire to make amends. I believe in the new project, and I am ready to give my all again for this shirt. I look forward to returning to San Siro and hearing our fans' cheers. Forza Milan always."
