Fermín López, Barcelona's midfielder, is close to making his return to the pitch following a muscle injury that has kept him sidelined in recent weeks, with coach Hans Flick closely monitoring his progress ahead of the new season.

According to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," the player has entered the final phase of his rehabilitation program after suffering an injury to the hamstring in his left thigh, which ruled him out of participating in the 2026 World Cup.

The newspaper added that Firminho has returned to group training during the preparation period, with continuous improvement in his physical condition, while Flick is closely monitoring his progress in preparation for his return to matches.

The Spanish midfielder hopes to accompany the team to the training camp in England, scheduled to take place between July 27 and August 3, with the possibility of participating in some friendly matches.

The report indicated that Firminho has been undergoing a special rehabilitation program under the supervision of the medical staff and fitness trainers, allowing the injury ample time for complete recovery and avoiding any setbacks.

During his absence, the player adhered to a treatment plan and traveled to the United States to watch the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, while awaiting his official return to the pitch with Barcelona.
