FIFA Reduces Zamalek's Transfer Ban Cases After Tangier Union Crisis
Zamalek's sanctions imposed by FIFA have been reduced to just five penalties, following the payment of outstanding financial obligations to Moroccan club Ittihad Tanger regarding the transfer of player Abdelhamid Maali.
An official statement from Zamalek read: "FIFA has removed the case regarding the dues of Moroccan club Ittihad Tangier from the list of cases concerning Zamalek at the international federation, following the successful payment of the Moroccan club's dues by the officials of the White Castle."
In a deal worth nearly half a million euros, young Moroccan star Maali, aged 20, joined Zamalek during the last summer transfer window from Ittihad Tanger.
Abdelhamid Malali played 9 matches with Zamalek, failing to score or assist in any of them, before terminating his contract with the club and returning to Ittihad Tanger on a free transfer.
