Moamen Gamal in the running to lead Olympic team
According to "Youm7" newspaper, the Egyptian Football Association's board, led by engineer Hani Abou Rida, is currently examining a number of files and resumes of national coaches in preparation for appointing one of them as the head coach of the Olympic team in the upcoming period.
The newspaper added that the list of local candidates includes notable names, most prominently Ayman Al-Ramadi, Moataz Jamal, Mohamed Shawky, and Adel Mustafa; this quartet possesses strong coaching experience that qualifies them to lead the Olympic team.
The council is currently examining the resumes and technical files of the four candidates to assess their previous experiences with clubs and national teams, and to select the most suitable one to create a promising generation that ensures African competition and qualification for global events.
The newspaper reported that the Football Association is keen to resolve the head coach issue quickly to guarantee technical stability and to commence preparation plans and training camps immediately. The final decision on the name is expected to be made during the upcoming meetings, paving the way for an official announcement and the formation of the coaching and administrative staff to officially begin their duties.
