Motsepe Responds to Proposal for More Teams in Africa Champions League

Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has stated his position on the proposal put forward by Hani Abu Rida, the President of the Egyptian Football Association, regarding the increase in the number of teams participating in the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup.

The President of the Confederation of African Football is currently holding a press conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, to discuss a number of CAF issues.

The team is set to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third in the Egyptian league, while Zamalek and Pyramids secured the first and second positions, respectively.

Patrice Motsepe stated during the CAF press conference: "Regarding Egypt's request to increase the number of teams participating in the African Champions League, if we receive any request, we discuss it and consider it. We have a duty to look into it and make a decision in the interest of football. We will present this request to the Secretary General and the Executive Committee, and a decision will be made that benefits African football."
