Al Ahly Strengthens Staff with International Expertise in Medicine and Physical Preparation

Al Ahly has enhanced its technical and medical framework with new international elements, in a move aimed at elevating professional standards and improving player care and physical performance in the upcoming phase. The additions include Spanish doctor Simón Buino López, who previously worked with Villarreal and held various medical roles with youth teams and the first team. Buino López possesses specialized experience in injury diagnosis and analysis of medical tests, alongside holding a FIFA diploma in football medicine and continuing his academic studies. Dutch physiotherapist Jesper Gabriëls has joined the physiotherapy department after stints with Al Qadsiah and Vitesse, in addition to his work with the Saudi Falcons Future program. Gabriëls holds advanced qualifications in sports physiotherapy and has experience in rehabilitation, injury prevention, and medical coverage for training and matches. Al Ahly has also strengthened its coaching staff with Portuguese coach Luque Garcia, who specializes in sports science and physical performance, following experiences with LA Galaxy, Benfica, and Toronto FC. The staff also includes Austrian fitness coach Sebastian Kirschner, who has worked with Red Bull Salzburg and possesses extensive experience in training loads, performance analysis, and injury prevention. These signings are part of Al Ahly's plan to build a comprehensive system that combines international expertise with scientific knowledge, aimed at developing players and improving performance both on and off the field.
