Mourinho Sticks to His Demands as Real Madrid Midfield Crisis Delays Transfer Decisions

Real Madrid's midfield continues to be one of the most pressing issues that has yet to be resolved, as coach José Mourinho insists on the necessity of signing a defensive midfielder. However, the club's management does not consider this transfer a priority at the moment, according to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo."

The newspaper pointed out that the team's struggles began with the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, along with the impact of Casemiro's exit, which has cost Real Madrid much of its balance and control in midfield.

The club relied on Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde to compensate for the absence of the trio, but the gamble did not yield the desired results. Additionally, Jude Bellingham's drop into deeper roles has impacted the team's attacking effectiveness.

Despite signing Portuguese star Bernardo Silva, Mourinho is still demanding the acquisition of a defensive midfielder to provide the team with what it lacks in the midfield before the start of the new season.

Mundo Deportivo added that Real Madrid's management will not move to sign a new player unless one of the midfielders departs, specifically Camavinga, due to a lack of available space in the roster.

Meanwhile, voices within the club believe that the team has sufficient quality in midfield, but they hold Mourinho responsible for finding the right combination that restores balance to this area and improves Real Madrid's overall performance.
