Wydad's New President Faces Heavy Legacy with 12 Players on the Verge of Leaving

Wydad Casablanca is entering a crucial phase as the presidency of Hicham Ait Manna comes to an end, coinciding with the holding of the electoral general assembly. The new administration is expected to face complex challenges on both sporting and financial fronts.

The upcoming management will be required to swiftly deal with several urgent matters, foremost of which is finding solutions to the financial crisis the club is facing, alongside rebuilding the first team following anticipated changes during the summer transfer window.

Wydad Casablanca is set to see the departure of 12 players from its ranks, including Amin Abou Fattah, Walid Sabbar, Mohamed Boucharari, Nabil Khali, and Brazilians Pedrinho and Arthur, along with Abdelghafour Lamirat for technical reasons. Contracts for Nourredine Amrabat, Mohamed Rayhi, Dutchman Bart Meyers, Wissam Ben Yedder, and Abdelali Mohammedi are also set to expire.

In light of this personnel crisis, the new president will be required to expedite the strengthening of the squad with players capable of making a difference, in order to regain technical balance and prepare the group before the start of the 2026-2027 football season.

This shift comes after a season that fell short of Wydad fans' expectations, as the team finished the professional league in fifth place, intensifying the pressure on the upcoming management to turn a new page and restore the club's competitiveness for titles and its status among the top Moroccan and continental clubs.
