Morocco Fassi President Reveals Benjida's Move to Al Ahly

Omar Benis, president of the sports company of Wydad Fassi, revealed the behind-the-scenes details of Sofiane Benjida's move to Al Ahly, confirming that he employed a negotiating strategy to provoke the Red Devils into offering a higher financial package for the deal.

Beniss stated in an interview with Moroccan site "Info Sports": "My entire professional life has been spent in negotiations, and we were negotiating with Al Ahly who were offering us deals that I didn't like. I asked them why Sufyan would leave for a team participating in the Confederation League while we are competing in the Champions League?".

He continued: "This matter provoked them, and this provocation spilled over into programs and newspapers, and in the end, the offer that came to us and that we agreed upon was truly fantastic, and the negotiation technique I relied on was successful."

The discussion turned to the leaked details of the player's contract with Wydad Casablanca, where he said: "The release clause for Sofiane Ben Jeddah has been leaked, and I don't know how this happened, but it hasn't weakened Wydad Casablanca's position because Sofiane was a man in this situation, and he asked Al Ahly's management to negotiate directly with us."

He added: "The release clause certainly gives the player the right to leave if he wishes to activate it, but if any player comes with an amount like the one Al Ahly offered and the player wants to leave, I will let him go."

He added: "A player who wants to leave for a club offering 5 or 6 times his salary cannot be asked to stay; it's unreasonable. What Ben Jeddou will receive from Al Ahly cannot be matched by the biggest clubs in Morocco."
