Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana of Aston Villa has undergone successful surgery to treat his anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee, following the injury he sustained during the World Cup.

André Onana suffered an injury while representing Belgium, forcing him to cut short his participation with the team due to the severity of the injury. Medical examinations later confirmed that he requires surgical intervention.

The Belgian midfielder is expected to be sidelined for up to 9 months, a severe blow for Aston Villa who will miss one of their key midfielders in the upcoming period.

Onana hopes to return in the best possible condition after completing his rehabilitation, in order to regain his form and participate again with his club and the Belgian national team.
