Juventus Close to Signing Emiliano Martinez After Agreement with Goalkeeper

Juventus is close to signing Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup, with both parties agreeing on personal terms. Negotiations with Aston Villa are still ongoing to finalize the transfer.

Martinez had postponed deciding his future until after the World Cup, which he concluded with the Argentina national team after losing the final match against Spain 1-0, despite his impressive performance in the game.

According to "Football Italia," citing "La Gazzetta dello Sport," the Argentine goalkeeper has returned to Europe and is preparing to pressure Aston Villa to agree to his transfer to Juventus.

The report indicated that Juventus has offered to sign Martinez on loan with an obligation to purchase for €6.5 million, while Aston Villa is demanding a fee close to €10 million to agree to the deal.

The source added that Martinez has agreed with Juventus to sign a contract for three seasons, with an annual salary of €5 million, along with performance-related bonuses. His current contract with Aston Villa runs until June 2029, and he will turn 34 next September.
