Bayern Munich Extends Konrad Laimer's Contract
Bayern Munich has announced the renewal of Austrian player Konrad Laimer's contract until June 30, 2029, allowing him to continue his journey with the team he joined in the summer of 2023, after becoming a key player thanks to his ability to play in multiple positions and his consistent performance.
Max Eberl, the board member for sports affairs, stated that Laimer represents a model of a reliable player at the highest level, emphasizing that his abilities and personality make him an important asset to the team, alongside his capacity to motivate his teammates and provide them with energy and enthusiasm on a daily basis.
Sporting director Christoph Freund emphasized that the club greatly values Laimer's versatility, passion, and consistent performance. He noted that Laimer delivers standout performances season after season, never giving up on any ball, while continuously developing himself and playing a significant role in the locker room.
Konrad Laimer expressed his great happiness at extending his contract, confirming that wearing the Bayern Munich shirt is exceptional for him, and that he feels happy in Munich and enjoys playing with this group since the first day of his arrival. He added that he is capable of helping the team in several positions and will continue to give his all for the club, affirming his confidence in the team's ability to compete for all titles.
Since joining Bayern Munich, Lainer has played 136 official matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 19 assists. He has won the Bundesliga title twice, along with the DFB-Pokal and the DFL-Supercup. Additionally, he has participated in 61 international matches with the Austrian national team, scoring 7 goals. Lainer played every minute of his country's matches in the 2026 World Cup, before being eliminated in the Round of 32 by Spain, who later claimed the title.
