Barcelona has begun efforts to renew Ferran Torres' contract after he stole the spotlight by leading Spain to victory in the 2026 World Cup, amid Paris Saint-Germain's interest in signing him during the summer transfer window.

According to Spanish newspaper "Sport," Paris Saint-Germain is moving to acquire Ferran Torres at the request of coach Luis Enrique, who sees him as the right option to replace Gonçalo Ramos, with a financial offer exceeding his current salary at Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Barcelona is trying to persuade the player to remain, despite his feeling in recent times of a decline in interest regarding his contract renewal and not being considered the primary striker, as the club continues to target Julián Álvarez.

The report states that Ferran's contract extends until the summer of 2027, and Barcelona is planning to renew it in September due to salary cap restrictions. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain is betting on the approaching end of his contract to strengthen its position in negotiations.

The French club continues its efforts to secure the signings of Diomande from Leipzig and Akliouche from Monaco, as part of its strategy to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

Barcelona considers keeping Ferran Torres a priority, especially after Robert Lewandowski's exit. The club will need to sign a new striker if the player leaves, while also continuing its efforts to finalize the deal for Julián Álvarez.
