Ajax Signs Leonardo on a Long-Term Deal

Ajax Amsterdam has officially announced the signing of Brazilian forward Marcos Leonardo from Al Hilal, with a contract that runs until June 30, 2031.

The Dutch club confirmed that all parties have reached a final agreement regarding the transfer, with Ajax set to pay just under €20 million for the 23-year-old player.

Markus Leonardo started his professional career with Santos, before moving to Europe in early 2024 through Benfica. He then transferred to Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal later that same year.

During his time with Al Hilal, he played 82 official matches and scored 48 goals, solidifying his status as one of the top Brazilian strikers in recent years.

Jordi Cruyff expressed his happiness with the completion of the deal, saying: "We have admired Marcus for a long time, and we are very pleased to welcome him to Ajax. Despite his young age, he has significant experience, having played over 250 official matches and scored more than 100 goals. His primary task here will be to score goals, and we are fully confident that he will succeed in that."

Ajax is hoping that Marcos Leonardo will provide a strong offensive boost for the team in the new season, as the club aims to regain competitiveness for domestic and continental titles.
