Former Al Ahly Keeper Ahmed Adel Abdel Moneim Announces Retirement

Ahmed Adel Abed El-Moneim, the goalkeeper of Ismaily SC, has announced his retirement from football. He indicated that he is close to taking on a new role within Al Ahly SC.

Ahmed Adel Abd El-Moneim wrote on his Facebook account: "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, every beginning has an end, and today I announce my retirement from football as a player."

He added: "20 years in the Egyptian league have been filled with struggle, hard work, loyalty, and dedication. God has blessed me during these years with more than 24 titles with the great entity, Al Ahly."

He continued: "Throughout this journey, the Al Ahly fans have never abandoned me, and they remained a support and a backing for me, even when I was outside the club's walls.. Thank you, Al Ahly fans.. Thank you, fans of Egypt."

He added: "I will always be grateful to every coach, every official, and all my fellow players who made this journey easier for me.. Thank you to the great Al Ahly Club.. Thank you to Misr El Makasa Club.. Thank you to El Gouna Club.. Thank you to the prestigious Ismaily Club."

Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim concluded his statements by saying: "I thank my family for enduring the hardships of this journey, and for their support and encouragement at all times. Today, my journey as a player comes to an end, and despite the difficulty of this decision, what comforts me is that I am starting a new journey within my home... Al Ahly."
