Adeyemi Passes Medical Ahead of Barcelona Move

German forward Karim Adeyemi has successfully passed his medical examination, putting him a step closer to completing his transfer to Barcelona. The deal could be officially announced in the coming hours or postponed until Friday, according to reports from "Mundo Deportivo."

The Borussia Dortmund winger arrived at a Barcelona hospital on Thursday morning, where he underwent medical examinations that lasted about two hours, before returning to the hotel to await the finalization of the contract procedures. "Mundo Deportivo" reported that the player will not head to the training complex or meet with coach Hans Flick and his new teammates before the official announcement of the deal.

The source added that Adeyemi's transfer only requires the completion of the contract exchange between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund and its signing, with the German club set to receive €22 million as a fixed fee, plus an additional €7 million in variables, making the player the second signing for Barcelona in preparation for the 2026/2027 season after Anthony Gordon.

Once all administrative procedures are completed, Adiemi will join Barcelona's training under the guidance of Hans Flick. He is expected to participate in his first training session on Friday morning as part of the preparations for the new season.

The report indicated that the player's presentation to the media will not take place until next week, following the return of club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco from the United States, where they will attend the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina. After that, Ademi will hold his first press conference wearing the Barcelona jersey.
