Ahmed Shedid Qanawy Announces Retirement from Football

Ahmed Shedid Qanawy has officially announced his retirement from football, bringing an end to a long and successful career filled with achievements and records in Egyptian stadiums.

Ahmed Shedid Qanawy has taken the lead as the player with the most appearances in the history of the Egyptian league after surpassing the 500-match mark. He has also broken the record previously held by the late legend Hassan El Shazly for the most consecutive appearances in the competition, in addition to being the all-time leader in assists in the tournament.

Ahmed Shedid Qanawy stated on his personal social media account: "I am the one who stood by myself the most in the field of football. No one helped me reach all that I have achieved in terms of numbers and titles, and I am very proud of everything I have done without assistance, because that is very difficult in Egypt."

He added: "I respected my career until the last moment and did not hold back a drop of sweat with any team I played for," confirming that his more than 500 matches in the league, 21 titles, and highest assist ratio, along with equaling the legendary Hassan El Shazly's record in 123 consecutive matches, represent the greatest achievements of his journey.
