Al Ahly Rejects Marwan Attia's Departure
According to Al-Ahram, Al Ahly's management has initially rejected the idea of parting ways with first-team midfielder Marwan Attia, following reports of interest from Arab clubs during the current summer transfer window.
The portal indicated that Al Ahly's management decision comes in light of Marwan Attia's outstanding form, considering him one of the key midfield pillars, especially with the departure of Malian player Aliou Dieng to Valencia in the summer transfer window.
According to the portal, Al Ahly intends to modify the player's contract by increasing his financial value, in line with the recent adjustments to the team's salary structure, aiming to secure his continuity and protect him from external temptations.
Marwan Attia is considered one of the standout players who excelled with the Egypt national team in the 2026 World Cup, where they were eliminated in the Round of 16 after losing to Argentina 3-2.
