Saad Samir Announces Retirement from Football
Said Samir, the defender of Ceramica Cleopatra, has officially announced his retirement from football, bringing an end to a long career during which he achieved numerous domestic and continental titles with various clubs.
Said Samir took to his personal Facebook account to announce his definitive retirement from football, indicating that he will embark on a new experience which he will reveal in the coming period.
Said Samir has represented several clubs in the Egyptian league, including Al Ahly, Modern Sport, and Ceramica Cleopatra. His stint with the Red Devils remains the most prominent and successful chapter of his career.
Said Samir expressed in his message: "I knew this moment was inevitable, and I was certain that every journey has a beginning and an end, but I never imagined that saying goodbye to the game I lived for would be this difficult."
He continued: "Football has never been just a profession or a means to achieve dreams for me; it has been my entire life. On its green pitch, I learned the meaning of responsibility, and within its confines, I discovered the value of hard work and determination. Throughout my journey, I found genuine love from fans who gave me the greatest gift in life... the love of the people."
He added: "Today I hang up my boots, and I recall with pride and gratitude every moment I lived on the pitch, every shirt I wore with dedication and honor, and every coach, teammate, and staff member who was part of this journey that I will cherish for the rest of my life."
He continued: "I extend my heartfelt thanks to my family, who have been my true support in all circumstances, and to the fans who have been the greatest motivation to continue, to whom I will remain indebted for my entire life, and to every coach who has added knowledge and experience to me, and to every teammate who has pushed me to develop and given me the energy to keep going, and to every management I have dealt with in complete respect and professionalism. God has blessed me with people I will always be grateful to throughout my football career."
He added: "Thank you to my great home, the magnificent Al Ahly club, the fortress of glory and pride, which made the name Said Samir, and bestowed upon me what is priceless, granting me the honor of wearing its jersey for fourteen years, during which I achieved 26 titles. I remember all the details; anyone who passes through the gates of the Club of the Century immortalizes their memories with numbers, titles, and achievements. This is how I was raised, and this is how I learned from its loyal symbols."
He continued: "And thanks to Ceramica Cleopatra, a system that did not wait for time to become great, but was born that way, and deserved its place through hard work and ambition. I had the honor of winning two League Cup titles with them over two seasons and contributing to finishing fourth in the Egyptian league, which is the club's best achievement in the history of the competition."
He added: "I will never forget any match I played or any training session I participated in while wearing the jersey of my country. Representing Egypt has been the greatest honor I have received in my career, starting from the youth teams, then the U-20 team in the World Cup, the Olympic team in the Olympic Games, and finally the senior national team in the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2018 World Cup in Russia."
He added: "Today marks the end of my journey as a player, but my relationship with football will never end. I leave the pitch carrying unforgettable memories in my heart, and I leave behind years in which I gave my all, hoping that I have left a positive mark in the hearts of everyone who followed my journey."
He added: "If I have brought joy to many, it is a blessing from God that I praise. If I have made mistakes or fallen short, I sincerely apologize, as I have always aimed to be dedicated in my work. Thank you, football... for giving me more than I ever dreamed of, and for providing a life I will always be proud of in every detail."
He concluded: "Goodbye as a player... but not farewell to football. Today, I close a chapter where I lived the best years of my life, and with God's permission, a new page begins, along with new challenges and ambitions. I carry the same passion, the same faith, and the same desire for success. I ask God to grant me success in what is to come, just as He has in the past, and that your love remains the greatest thing I gained from this journey. Stay supportive... and may football continue to be the most beautiful story in my life."
