Official: Jess Thorup Appointed Manager of Genk

Belgian club Genk has officially announced the signing of Yes Turup, the former coach of Al Ahly, to take over the team in the coming hours. Turup has signed a contract that extends for three seasons until the summer of 2029, succeeding coach Nicky Hayen.

An official statement from Belgian club Genk announced: "Yves Turup will take charge of the first team and will lead his first training session tomorrow morning, Wednesday, which will be open to the public."

Niki Hein, the former coach of the team, decided to take over at Burnley in England just a few days ago, prompting the Belgian club to search for a new manager.

In an official statement from Genk: "The club has signed a coach with a rich history of achievements, having worked in recent years with Augsburg in Germany. He previously won the Danish league title with Midtjylland and Copenhagen, and last season, he led Al Ahly to win the Egyptian Super Cup."
