Adeyemi Set for Medical Ahead of Barcelona Move
German winger Karim Adeyemi arrives in Barcelona on Wednesday, preparing to complete the formalities of his transfer to the Catalan club after reaching a final agreement with Borussia Dortmund.
According to Spanish newspaper "Sport", the player will undergo medical examinations and sign his contract upon arrival, with Barcelona expected to announce the deal officially on the same day, provided the procedures go as planned.
The source added that Adeyemi will join the first team training directly, where he will participate in his first training session under the guidance of Hans Flick on Thursday as part of Barcelona's preparations for the new season.
The report indicated that the official presentation of the player will be delayed until next week, awaiting the return of club president Joan Laporta from the United States after his commitments related to the World Cup.
Borussia Dortmund had given Adeyemi permission to negotiate with Barcelona after excluding him from the physical tests at the start of the preparation period, before the player returned to Germany to complete the transfer process.
Barcelona has agreed with Dortmund to sign Adeyemi for €22 million, with an additional €7 million in performance-related bonuses. The German club will retain 20% of any future sale, while the player's contract with Barcelona will run until 2031.
