Markus Leonardo Passes Medical at Ajax
Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo has successfully passed his medical examinations in preparation for his transfer to Ajax, putting him just steps away from leaving Al Hilal during the current transfer window.
Dutch newspaper "De Telegraaf" has confirmed that Ajax's medical team has given the green light to complete the transfer deal, after ensuring the player's fitness and finding no concerns regarding his health.
Marcus Leonardo arrived in the Netherlands last Sunday evening, before undergoing a medical examination on Monday, where the results were in line with expectations, allowing the club to begin the official announcement process.
Only the legal details of the contracts between Al Hilal, Ajax, and the Brazilian player remain to be completed before the deal is officially announced in the coming hours.
Al Hilal signed Leonardo in January 2024 from Portuguese side Benfica for around €40 million, with a contract that extends for five years with the Saudi team.
The Brazilian forward has played 82 matches for Al Hilal across various competitions, scoring 48 goals and providing 5 assists, showcasing remarkable attacking performances during his time with the club.
Atletico Madrid had previously tried to secure the services of the player during the last winter transfer window on loan, but the negotiations did not materialize, leading Leonardo to choose a new experience with Ajax.
