Atletico Madrid Targets Barcelona Talent

Atletico Madrid continues to pursue a deal for Marc Bernal, Barcelona's midfielder, amid negotiations between the two clubs regarding Julian Alvarez's transfer. However, the Catalan club has no plans to part ways with the player during the summer transfer window.

According to "Mundo Deportivo," Barcelona has made a €100 million offer for Julian Alvarez, with the possibility of including one of the players not in Hans Flick's plans in the deal if necessary.

The report adds that the player who has caught the attention of coach Diego Simeone is Marc Bernal, even though he is not among the names suggested for departure, as Barcelona considers him a key figure in their future project.

Bernal is under contract with Barcelona until June 2029, with a release clause set at €500 million, and he enjoys significant trust from Hans Flick after gradually returning from an ACL injury, having participated in 33 official matches last season.

The same source confirmed that the player is not considering leaving Barcelona; instead, he is focused on solidifying his place in the first team and increasing his appearances under Flick's management.

The report clarified that the meeting between Bernal's agent, Raúl Verdu, and Atletico Madrid's sporting director, Mateo Alemany, last April was not to discuss the player's future but rather to address matters concerning other players.
