Barcelona Signs Ecuadorian Jose Caicedo

Barcelona has announced an agreement with Ecuadorian club LDU Quito for the loan of young left-back Jose Caicedo to Barcelona Athletic for one season, until the end of the 2026-2027 season, with an option to buy included in the contract.

At just 18 years old, Caicedo is considered one of the brightest emerging talents in Ecuadorian football. He is known for his attacking abilities, physical strength, and impressive speed on the left flank, as well as his capacity to play in advanced positions, including left winger, providing him with tactical flexibility.

This season, the player has appeared in eight official matches for LDU Quito's first team, including seven in the Ecuadorian league and one in the Copa Libertadores, where he made his continental debut against Olmedo.

Caicedo is expected to strengthen Barcelona Athletic under coach Juliano Belletti, as the Catalan club aims to develop young talents and provide them with opportunities to grow before moving up to the first team.
